Yes, we are still here!

Reports of websites being taken down is causing concern this week, but we are still here! That is because our website does not operate on PHP, a programming language that runs on the server and builds a website's pages.

According to news reports, roughly 70% of websites worldwide run on PHP including WordPress and Drupal and it is those websites that are currently regarded as 'at risk'.

A server is a computer or software program that stores data, runs applications, and "serves" them out to other computers - known as clients - over a network or the internet. Our website stratfordsubcastle.org.uk is a client of Wix, and their packaged software was used to build this site in July 2018. Wix continues to host our site and provide support.

However, "Not affected by this flaw" is not the same as "never vulnerable". There is no complacency here.

In other news...... A local picture always attracts attention. This image was taken earlier this week. A collie in training was rounding up a small flock of sheep in a field below Old Sarum. Whistled instructions and 'Bye' were heard from the shepherd.
