We will be welcoming Roger Hirons aka The Plant Doctor, for another visit to our Club. Roger is an expert on plants, ecology and garden design and a published author of ‘Hedges & Living Boundaries’, that he wrote in 2022. The title of the talk is "Putting the garden to bed for the Winter". Stratford Garden Club's 2026 - 2027 season of talks begins
The first meeting in the 40th year of the Garden Club is on Thursday 24 September 7.15 pm for 7.30 pm in the Reading Room SP1 3LL, opposite St Lawrence Church. Stratford sub Castle Garden Club
The AGM of the club was held on 25 June in Judy & Charles Villiers garden, in a welcome shady part! The meeting was attended by 19 people. The Programme Secretary's report given by Jeff Long showed that attendance at meetings remained 25 – 35. The programme for the year had been well received and enjoyed. Garden Club June meeting
Our meeting in June will be different! This year it will take the form of a Social and AGM and will be held at the home of Judy & Charles, 9 Castle Keep at 7.30 pm on Thursday 26 June. This will be an evening for you all to talk together - how does the Garden Club get more Committee Members? Our next meeting will be on Thursday 28 May at 7.30 pm in the Reading Room, Stratford Road, Stratford sub Castle SP1 3LL. Stratford Garden Club Talk 30 April & Save the date for Open Gardens in June
The next Garden Club meeting will be on Thursday 30 April at 7.30 pm in the Reading Room, Stratford Road, Stratford sub Castle SP1 3LP. Our speaker is Ruth Kerr and her talk is entitled “A wander without wellies”. Using a presentation of images and sounds, she will take us for a verbal walk along old routes in the UK, exploring their heritage and some of the flora and fauna living in our countryside. This will include a nature table display of skulls, feathers & taxidermy.

Stratford Garden Club - January 2026 -'Seed Sowing & Propagation'
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 29 January 2026 in the Reading Room, Stratford Road SP1 3LL at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Ray Broughton – his topic is “Seed sowing and propagation”. Ray is a highly qualified horticulturist, teacher, lecturer and examiner. He was Head of Horticulture at Sparsholt College and taught horticulture for over 40 years.
