Waters Road was re-opened to traffic earlier today, Wednesday 1 April. Note: There are still some signs indicating that there is a road closure but these refer to Fairfield Road. This brings to an end the extra traffic using the Diversion route through Stratford sub Castle leading to Phillips Lane, around the Beehive roundabout and southwards down Castle Road. The R12 bus had its own diversionary route via Victoria Road and will now resume its normal route via Waters Road.

Salisbury Reds' bus drivers will no longer be stopping their vehicles on request between official bus stops to pick up passengers, or to let them alight. The reason given by a bus driver on the R12 service this morning was 'Insurance' -passengers would not be covered in the event of fall or trip unless this took place at an official bus stop.
