Yellow Warning* of rain forecast for the 200 'Big Sleepers' at Stonehenge

Give a thought to Ted Uren and Chris Lush and all the 200 'Big Sleepers'

who have chosen to spend the night of Friday 14 November sleeping under the stars at the Stonehenge World Heritage site. Social media posts indicate that Phil Harding of Wessex Archaeology & Time Team, and Salisbury Mayor John Wells (who represents St Francis & Stratford Ward on both Salisbury City Council and Wiltshire Council), have also signed up for the Big Sleep.


The aim of this event is to raise awareness of homelessness and to encourage people to make donations to Alabaré, a charity that supports homeless veterans across WIltshire and the South West. The event has been organised in a first-time partnership between English Heritage and Alabaré.

Rather than seeking individual sponsorships, Ted and Chris would be delighted if you would support Alabaré through the 2025/26 Mayoral Charity chosen by John Wells for his year of office. Details were published in the October and November issues of the
