In June we held the AGM of the above Club and I am delighted to say that it was a very successful evening!

The current Committee will remain for a further year:  Alison Clayton - Treasurer, Dorothy Richards - Membership Secretary, Jeff Long - Programme Planner, Rob Barclay and Chris Lush.

Our finances are OK for a further year and were boosted by a plant sale at the end of the meeting. But speakers are getting more and more expensive and we will be looking at ways to manage this cost.

Dorothy gave a short talk on “Plants that I Must Have”. Very interesting with a Power Point show put together by Andrew, with photographs of the plants being talked about.

We now have new additions to the committee - Judy Villiers, Lynne Pender and Grace Porter. We are very grateful for them coming forward to help. Grace will take over from me during the coming season as Programme Secretary and Judy & Lynne have offered to organise ”Open Gardens 2026” in Stratford sub Castle, probably in June.

We still do not have a Secretary or Chairman - if you could help in either of these roles please contact me.

Next Season begins on Thursday 25th September, 7.15 for 7.30pm in the Reading Room. Our speaker will be MICHAEL BOWYER – whom many of you will know as the Creative Director of Salisbury Cathedral Flowers. This time he will be speaking on “My Garden, My plants” More about Michael in our next article.  Please put this date in your diary now.

Our fees remain the same: Membership £18 per year,  Visitors £4 per meeting.

I look forward to seeing you in September.

Jeff Long, Programme Secretary
