Speed Awareness sign nr Hudson's Field

A 'Your Speed' sign has been fixed to a lampost on Stratford Road, near Hudson's Field. It is not a 'Speed Camera'.

Typically, these signs are advisory and are installed on a temporary basis by local councils in an effort to educate drivers entering areas where there have been concerns about speeding vehicles.

In December last year, cables were laid across various points on Stratford Road to monitor traffic flow.

Similar 'Awareness' signs have been installed in other parts of Wiltshire on a permanent basis. The nearby Winterbourne villages have such a scheme that has been described as 'very successful in reducing vehicle speeds' by residents.
