The Team Leader of a local literacy charity has decided to step down after three years in the role.
Julia West has led the Salisbury-based South and East Wiltshire Read Easy group (see ** below) since its launch three years ago but has now decided to let someone else take up the challenge – although she is continuing to manage the group's social media.
She said: “I am really proud of what we have achieved to date. “I would like to thank all our volunteers, without whom none of this could happen. We are always looking for new volunteers and would love to hear from you if you can help in any way”.
Meanwhile, the Team Leader of North and West Wiltshire Read Easy, Suze Cox, has been appointed Interim Team Leader as well for the South and East Wiltshire group.
If you are looking for a new challenge in the new year then look no further because the roup specifically needs a Coordinator, Administrator and Fundraiser. As Coordinator you would be meeting and enrolling adults who want to learn to read and interviewing volunteer Reading Coaches with a member of the Management Team.
You would then pair them up and offer ongoing support throughout their reading journey, visiting their reading sessions occasionally and maintaining support through regular calls with both Reader and Coach to check all is going well.
If you are a good timekeeper and an organised individual, then your administration skills will be vital to support the smooth running of the local Management Team. But if you are motivated by sales or development, then becoming Fundraiser will appeal to you. Fundraisers use their existing skills and develop new ones to raise funds to ensure the group’s running expenses are covered.
If you would like to apply for any of these roles, please email sewrecruiter@readeasy.org.uk or call Ann on 07850034759.
