Join Us to Celebrate the Arrival of Our New Electric Buses
We’re excited to invite the community to join us in celebrating this major investment by Salisbury Reds and Wiltshire Council. On Friday 20 March, we will be officially launching our 30 brand-new electric buses.
To mark the occasion, we’ll be hosting a special celebration event in Salisbury Market Place where everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy the atmosphere and discover more about the future of zero emission bus travel in Salisbury.
From midday, our team will be in the Market Place welcoming visitors and showcasing some of our new electric buses. This will be a great opportunity to step on board, explore the vehicles and see first-hand what makes these buses such an exciting step forward for public transport in our city.
Our team members will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions and talk about how electric buses work, the benefits they bring to the environment and what they mean for the future of travel across our network.
We will also have representatives on hand from the two bus builders, Wrightbus and ADL, as well as EO Charging.
Live Music from ELO Again at 1.30pm
To add to the celebrations, we are laying on special treat for you all and will have live music from ELO Again, who will be performing in Market Place from 1.30pm. Their set will help create a fantastic atmosphere as we celebrate this exciting moment together.
ELO Again really give us all a dramatic taste of what a legendary Electric Light Orchestra concert would have been like back in their heyday. The whole experience is professionally re-enacted with amazing sound production, light show and visual effects. They perform all the big hits – MR BLUE SKY, LIVIN' THING, SWEET TALKIN' WOMAN, SHINE A LITTLE LOVE, CONFUSION, LAST TRAIN TO LONDON, ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN, WILD WEST HERO, DON'T BRING ME DOWN, THE DIARY OF HORACE WIMP, TELEPHONE LINE, TURN TO STONE plus many more.
This event is a great chance for us to celebrate with the community, showcase our new fleet and share our excitement about a cleaner, quieter future for buses in Salisbury.
Visitors can also look out for some exclusive Salisbury Reds giveaways available on the day.
