If you were at the Guild talk* in the Reading Room this evening, 14 February, you will have heard David Richards refer to Mawarden Court, one of many buildings owned by The Pitt Family. David showed a copy of the image above, a drawing of Mawarden Court in 1805, explaining that the north wing of the house (right of picture) was later demolished and is the site of the present-day Reading Room.
