'Urgent tree safety works' required the closure of the Durnford Road between

8-12 September.

Work is only part-completed, see images below. (1) - before the damage Google Streetview

(2) - felling underway (3) - situation on 16 September.

A beech tree south of Salterton lost a large limb as a result of a recent strong gust of wind. The noise of it falling was heard by a local resident who described the damage as 'So Sad!'.

Although the branch wasn't blocking the road, the tree was unsafe and a felling and recovery operation required access from Durnford Road.
