This event has now taken place.
James Dewar was the administrator at Lincoln's Inn in London for nine years until retiring in 2010. Previously he had a full career in the Army. He has been a resident of Stratford sub Castle for fifteen years.
James has kindly offered to give an illustrated talk about Lincoln's Inn, one of the hidden treasures of London. His talk will focus on the history, current role and artefacts of Lincoln's Inn. Its records date back to 1422 when Henry VI was the (uncrowned) youngest ever King of England and the last of the Lancastrian line. The Wars of the Roses were yet to begin....

Lincoln's Inn has imposing buildings, beautiful grounds and countless valuable portraits and silverware. It is home to some 36 sets of barristers' chambers and its proximity to the Royal Courts of Justice and its worldwide membership of more than 14,000 barristers and judges underlines its prominent role in the British and Commonwealth judicial system.
James will also recount some anecdotes from his time there. We've been told that the food was pretty good too!
