Save the Date - Friends of St Lawrence talk - Friday 2nd October at 7.30 pm in the Reading Room.

Our speaker for October will be Clare Waddell, who many of you will know as a

fellow resident of Stratford sub Castle. Clare is a dietitian at Salisbury District

Hospital and has worked in the field of nutrition for more than 30 years.

Clare's talk is titled "Can We Make Stratford sub Castle a Blue Zone?".

For anyone unfamiliar with the term, Blue Zones are regions of the world where

people not only tend to live exceptionally long lives but also enjoy remarkably good health, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community.

During her talk, Clare will explore what makes these communities so special, what

the latest scientific research tells us about healthy ageing, and the practical steps

that individuals and communities can take to improve health, happiness, and social

connection.

Drawing on her expertise in nutrition, Clare will place particular emphasis on the role

of food, explaining how small, achievable changes to our diets can have a significant

impact on our gut microbiome and overall health.

There will be plenty of time for questions at the end of the evening, so if you have

any burning questions about nutrition or healthy eating, do come along and ask!

Tickets details to follow in the September Parish Magazine and here on the village website.
