A young couple were spotted enthusiastically dredging the Avon between Five Rivers Centre and Ashley Road this morning. They had travelled to Salisbury from Southampton to pursue what they called their 'hobby'.
By 11.15 am when these images were taken, they had 'rescued' several shopping trolleys, bicycle wheels, a new-looking bike, and lots of smaller metal objects.
Our local Wildlife will now benefit from a cleaner and less obstructed waterway.
