To avoid the road works on Castle Road, a diversion route from the Beehive roundabout along Phillips Lane and onto Stratford Road is currently in operation from 7 pm until 6 am. Heavy vehicles including Salisbury Reds' buses Active8 and PR11 are using this route.

Original News Story 6 March 2024

If you have travelled down the A345 Castle Road southwards from the Beehive Park & Ride in the past few days, you will have seen yellow information boards with a flashing message.

They publicise night-time road closures due to start on Thursday 14 March lasting until 28 March, between 7 pm and 6 am (excluding weekends).

A section of the A345 Castle Road from Old Castle Road to Paul's Dene Crescent will be closed to traffic whilst carriageway resurfacing and associated works are carried out by Wiltshire Council. A diversion route will be signposted.

These maintenance works should put the road in better condition ready for when the A345 becomes part of the diversion route for the planned 3-month closure of the A360 whilst high voltage cables are laid to prepare a electricity supply to the A303 Stonehenge Tunnel.

The A360 closure is expected to start on 2 April - details will be posted here nearer the time.
