"A swarm of bees in May...

... is worth a load of hay." [*]

A swarm was collected from Gradidge Lane this morning, destined for a local garden.

[*] A (17C?) proverbial beekeepers' rhyme recounts the value of a swarm of bees at different times of the year:

A swarm of bees in May, is worth a load of hay;

A swarm of bees in June, is worth a silver spoon;

But a swarm of bees in July - is not worth a fly!
