SUMMER SUNDAY CAFÉS – END OF SEASON 2022
We started our season in May with a free ‘welcome back’ drink and ended in September with a ‘special offer’ of refills for just 50 pence. Many people have been able to enjoy our delicious cakes, buy bargain produce and books and meet people, whilst soaking up the special atmosphere of our community cafes.
I would like to take this opportunity to give a special thank you to everyone who came along to support our cafés and to everyone who contributed items. The biggest thank you, however, has to go to our lovely hard-working helpers, because without them the cafés would not happen.
This season, in total, we have been able to donate £1340 to charity.
LOOKING AHEAD - We will of course be holding our Lunchtime Christmas Cafe on Saturday 3rd December, so make a note in your diary to join us then and look out for further details nearer the time. (This has now taken place - details above. Ed.)

Stratford sub Castle Lunchtime Christmas Café Special – Review
It was just like old times! The place was buzzing with the chatter of happy people coming together to enjoy the festive atmosphere. An added feature this year was an overhead slide show of Christmas-Cafés-past. (Did you spot yourself?)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed items to the café, helped on the day or came along to enjoy the happy, friendly atmosphere, making it a great success.
Our raffle had around thirty substantial prizes, with our Festive Foods Hamper 1st prize being won by local resident Laura.
With the monies raised on the day we were able to contribute £25 each to the Parish Magazine and the Village Website, to help with their running costs and, donate £465 each to our two nominated charities - The Samaritans of Salisbury and District & Cruse Bereavement Support, Salisbury
We anticipate being back with our summer Sunday cafés, starting in May 2023, so look out for details nearer the time.
Once again, thank you for all your support.
With all good wishes for 2023,
Barbara Mayall (Café Co-ordinator)
