Waters Road has been closed to allow Southern Gas Networks to complete works originally scheduled to be completed last year but abandoned owing to flooding issues.

The notice below, sourced from OneNetwork, gives an expected completion date of 17 July.

"Wiltshire Council Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Closure of: Waters Road (Part), Salisbury (Ref: TTRO 10271)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: Waters Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Stratford Road to its western junction with Fairfield Road. To enable: SGN to carry out gas main replacement and associated works. Alternative route: via Waters Road (unaffected length) – Castle Road – Stratford Road and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order which previously came into operation on 27 January 2025 will now recommence on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 17 July 2025.

It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order has a maximum duration of 18 months. For further information please contact SGN on 0800 9121700.

Highways Assets and Commissioning, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge BA14 8JN 12 June 2025" (Date of notice)
