A Stratford sub Castle resident, Andrew Suddards, has contacted Salisbury City Council to propose that the Parliament Stone currently sited adjacent to the public footpath that extends from The Portway, should be moved to a more accessible location, for example Hudson's Field.

The Parliament Stone commemorates the once Rotten Borough of Old Sarum and is near to the spot where the infamous 'Parliament Tree' once stood. Andrew believes that local residents and tourists would be more aware of the stone's existence (and thus its history) if it could be moved to a more prominent position.
