The Trustees would like to thank all those people who support the fundraising efforts of the Friends of St Lawrence Church either by becoming members of the Charitable Trust, or by attending our ticketed events.
Rather like the Forth Bridge but on a much smaller scale, maintenance to keep our beautiful Grade 1 listed church in good order never seems to stop. Last year the Friends provided funds to replace the clock-face, refurbish the ground gutters, replace stone flooring in the tower and repair the stonework below the East Window.
On Friday 28 February local resident Henry Gray will present an illustrated talk ‘How Stonemasonry helped save my Life’. Henry will deliver a brief history of stonework, his journey into stone-carving and outline the restoration works he has carried out to the church.
The talk starts at 7.30 pm in the Reading Room and ticket prices are £10 members, £12 non-members which includes a glass of wine or soft drink, and nibbles.
Tickets are now available - please book by phoning me on 01722 325183 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
