Stratford Motors

Following the publication of an article about Stratford Motors in the November Parish Magazine (copied below for reference), Karl and Michelle (Stratford Motors) have been overwhelmed by the kind wishes, cards and gifts they have received.

They would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all.

It’s not the work we will miss, but the people.

Best wishes for a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

Karl and Michelle.

The following article was published in the November Parish Magazine:

Stratford Motors After 33 years’ service to our local community, Stratford Motors in Mill Lane is closing. Karl and Michelle Davison started their car service, repairs and MOT business in September 1990 and will shut for the last time at the end of October 2023.

Friendly and helpful they have looked after our cars, always in a professional and reliable manner. They will be missed.

They will be retiring to their home in the Chalke Valley, where they will enjoy more time with their family, and Karl will be able to concentrate on his beloved race cars.

Michelle told me they would like to thank everyone for their custom and friendship over the years.

Comments from local customers: “We always found Karl (and Michelle) to be helpful, practical, and thoroughly well organised. His indication of faults on any car was accurate but never alarmist, and advised a practical way ahead within a realistic timescale.”

“A thoroughly professional couple running a thoroughly professional business. We shall miss them both, for their skills of course - and as individuals. Best wishes for a long and satisfying retirement.”

“Kind neighbours, and Karl, with his mechanical expertise, always ready to help in an emergency or otherwise.”

“I have known Karl for many years and he has looked after my various cars in that time. There was the time when he repaired my punctured wheelbarrow wheel, he refused payment when he discovered that I had been using it in the graveyard doing some tidying up. I will miss Michelle and Karl.” “Always reliable and helpful. You will be missed.”

“I always found them so helpful, telling you exactly what needed doing and then all done and ready to collect as promised. Real customer service.”

If you have not had the chance to say your goodbyes yet, they will be there clearing up during November. I’m sure they would love to see you.
