UPDATE re: Prohibition of Vehicles order for Gradidge Lane

Update 21 December 2020

Wiltshire Council has today advised

that the consultation has ended "and

as objections were received for the same, details of all letters of objection or support will be considered in a report placed before the Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Waste."

So, no decision yet...... Watch this space.

Original News Item 22 October 2020

An attempt by Wiltshire Council to prohibit vehicles from using Gradidge Lane was abandoned in July 2019 after an objection from a trail bikers group.

The Prohibition Order has been revised and a new Order issued on 22 October. If implemented, cars, vans and lorries would be banned but motor bikes permitted - as they are now but never seen by this editor who walks Gradidge Lane almost daily. It's highly probable that the fly tipping which takes place quite frequently occurs when a car/van/lorry is driven into the lane and prohibition of these vehicle may help to deter fly tippers. *

Full details of the Order can be viewed in the documents below.

Comments in favour of, or against the Order should be sent to Wiltshire Council, Traffic Order Team, Sustainable Transport, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge BA14 8JN or email quoting reference LJB/TRO/SALSpmv. Comments must arrive by 16 November 2020 to be considered.

There's also an on-line comments form here

If you copy this reference LJB/TRO/SALSpmv it can be pasted into the form.
