'Extraordinary' City Council Meeting - People Friendly Streets

After over two hours of debate on Monday 14 December, City Councillors voted by 12 votes to 10 in favour of the following motion put to the Council:

"The Salisbury City Council supports the introduction in 2021 of a People Friendly Streets Experimental Traffic Regulation Order, in accordance with phase one of the Central Area Framework report recommendations."

Stratford sub Castle, part of the St Francis and Stratford ward is represented on Salisbury City Council by Kevin Daley and Mark McClelland who both voted against the motion.

Members of the public were able to watch and listen to the meeting which was chaired by Mayor John Walsh, live via Teams.

A People-Friendly-Salisbury scheme was discontinued at the end of November just a few weeks after being implemented.
