An illustrated talk by Henry Gray  

'How Stonemasonry Helped Save My Life

A dark, wet February evening was illuminated by a superb talk by Henry Gray on his stonemasonry career and how it transformed his whole life. Afterwards, audience members were able to handle tools and attempt to work stone pieces - under careful supervision!

Two other events planned for 2020 unfortunately had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.


A much anticipated return of 'The Navy Larks' had been planned for a summer's evening in early June 2020

For an autumn event it had been planned to hear an update from the archaeologists
Dr Alex Langlands and Dr Kris Strutt on the work on the Old Sarum Landscapes Project.


(Neither the OSLP geophys nor the usual Summer Field School took place in 2020.)

A talk by Larry Hollingworth CBE 

formerly of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Bosnia and humanitarian aid agencies in many recent world trouble spots.

conducted by Kate Edgar.

Followed by drinks and nibbles in the Reading Room.
