A large team of helpers came together to create the Christmas Café in the Reading Room. We had a festive produce stall, mulled wine, mulled apple juice, tea and coffee, several varieties of soups, ploughman's lunches and an extensive raffle.
Thanks to the generosity of the Stratford community a total of £1100 was raised and donated to the Salisbury branch of Home Start, a charity that provides valuable support to young families.
It was a happy occasion with many people turning out to support the event and see their friends. Although we were sad to see so few children and the Lucky Dip a bit of flop, it did not go to waste as Tessa took it to the Women’s Refuge to be enjoyed by their children.
As coordinator of the raffle, Will Richardson has asked me to thank all those who donated prizes. Your generosity meant that almost everyone was a winner!
Best wishes for a very happy new year and thanks again for helping to make this event so successful.
