Update on Defibrillator Fundraising
At the time of writing we have raised £1,770.00 of the £3,500.00 we aim to raise to provide a defibrillator and its maintenance and insurance for the next 10 years.
We have two fundraising activities planned that we hope you will feel able to support.
Children’s sponsored walk around Old Sarum
This is being organised by the parents of our village school on Sunday 18 March starting at the school at 11.00. The plan is for the children to walk from the School around Old Sarum with adult family members. The cost will be £5.00 per family and will include optional sponsorship forms for children, light refreshments at Old Sarum and a sticker for all children completing the route. Families will need to provide their own picnic rugs and lunch to eat before completing the circle back to the school. Well behaved dogs on leads will be welcome.
If you are a family living in the village with children attending another school in the area you are very welcome to join in and can get further details and register to participate by contacting Annalise Hecks on 07971 171914
Additionally adult help to act as a marshals or join us for a picnic would be very welcome so do please get in touch with Annalise.
Healthy Heart Day
This will take place on Wednesday 18th April at the Reading Room when we will be offering:
· The opportunity we hope for people to see a demo defibrillator and ask questions;
· Free taster activity sessions for children and adults led by James Tilley of The Optimal Performance Clinic based at Old Sarum;
· Lunches – make your own nutritious filled roll from a range of provided ingredients in return for a donation;
· Afternoon tea and coffee with healthy snacks.
We are still at the planning stage for this event and are looking for volunteers to help with the lunches and teas.
Donations can be made by anyone either in the form of a cheque made out to ‘The Heartbeat Trust’ or on the online donation page
All cheques should have our specific six digit reference number - STR004 - written on the back. Cheques and cash donations should ideally be placed in a special envelope obtainable from Arnold Harrison, Heather Balston, Liz Waterman and Annalise Hecks (school parent). Cheques can be posted direct in the postage paid envelopes. Cash in envelopes should be given to any of the above, not posted.
