Stratford sub Castle Summer Sunday Café on 20th May

29 Apr 2018
By Barbara Mayall

Our new season of summer cafés is about to start, so we hope you will come along to the May café, whatever the weather. As in previous years you will be able to enjoy one of our cream teas or delicious homemade cakes (including at least one Gluten free/Dairy free option.) Whilst visiting, you can also take the opportunity to purchase something from our popular seasonal garden & kitchen produce stall, with plants, jams & chutneys, as well as our pre-loved book stall.

We are happy to receive contributions of any produce items and books (especially novels) to boost our supplies. Use contacts listed below to arrange, or bring items along on the day at the start of the café.

The café will be open from 2.30pm to 5.00pm in the Reading Room (opposite St Lawrence Church) which has disabled access & wc. Entry and parking are both free. All are welcome.

The cafés are run by volunteers from the area, to provide somewhere for our community to come together, get to know our neighbours (especially those new to the area) and at the same time raise much needed money for local charities.

All proceeds from the May café will go towards the Community Defibrillator fund, which is a project we started with the proceeds from the Christmas café. Since then we have received a number of generous donations to help us towards our target of £3500.

Next month the café will be on Sunday 17th June. All proceeds will go to our chosen charity Naomi House & Jacksplace, Salisbury, who provide expert hospice care for children, young people and their extended families.

We all look forward to seeing you on the day.
