Old Sarum Landscapes Project Field School July 2018

The OSLP team plans to return to Stratford sub Castle for a field school from 2-27 July. This follows on from a successful season in 2017 and a week of surveying by third year undergraduate students in what turned out to be a very wet April this year.

With the kind permission of the landowners, the plan is to continue with geophysical investigations and excavations in the fields around Dean's Farm. Along with School of Archaeology staff from Southampton and Swansea Universities there will be a group of first year undergraduate students. As in previous years, volunteers would be welcome to join the project by prior arrangement/agreement of dates.

If you would like more details or to add your name to the volunteer list, please contact Jim Platt who was one of the local residents involved in the project last year. Former volunteers have already been contacted by the Project Team leader Kris Strutt.

You can see volunteers at work by looking through the images in our photo gallery for April 2017 and July 2017.

Since the above article was published, some members of the OSLP Team have arrived for the Summer 2018 season.
