Well, here we are again, preparing for another fantastic Christmas Café on Saturday 9th December from 11 am to 2.30 pm.

We do hope you will come along and join us in the Reading Room for the last café of the year and enjoy the festive atmosphere as well as some of the great things on offer.

The doors will open at 11.00am for morning coffee and we will remain open through lunch time, offering a choice of homemade soups, bread, cheese, pate and chutneys. Mulled Wine, beverages, stollen, mince pies and shortbread/biscuits will be available throughout.

Our produce table will be selling homemade jams, chutneys, mini Christmas cakes and some festive items, plus a raffle for your chance to win a ‘Festive Foods Hamper’ and other prizes.

As always, we would appreciate your contributions of items for the produce table to boost our supplies, incl Christmas crafts and ‘stocking filler’ items, plus festive food items for the raffle prizes. Please contact me to arrange, or bring items along for opening time on the day.

The cafés are a great way for our community to come together and at the same time raise money for local charities. This Christmas, however, we will be putting all of the proceeds towards funding a defibrillator for our community. Additional funds will be needed, therefore, further fundraising activities will start in 2018, so look out for further details in due course in the Parish Magazine and here on our Village Website.

May I take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting our community cafés and to give a special ‘Thankyou’ to the generous donors who paid for the Reading Room rent for each of the cafés this year. It has been much appreciated.
