Third year undergraduates involved in the Old Sarum Landscapes Research Project will be carrying out geophysical investigations in a field bordering Philips Lane this week.

Organised by Southampton University's School of Archaeology, this particular activity doesn't involve any excavating, so there was no expectation of any finds being discovered. However, rabbits burrowing in the area have brought this piece of pottery to the surface.  One more piece for the medieval finds tray?
