Pizza Express Dorking

Situated at the end of the High Street, this is a stylish and lively restaurant with contemporary artwork. Large and open plan it is the ideal venue for both large groups and intimate dining. There is also a small patio garden which offers al fresco dining. On some Wednesday evenings there is live music and we advise booking to avoid disappointment. We also cater for children's parties - please contact the restaurant for more details.

Stratford Bell Ringers

Organisation Description:

St Lawrence, Stratford sub Castle band of Bellringers were formed in 1998 as a consequence of the installation of the new ring of six bells in the church. A number of villagers had learned to ring at St. Thomas` in Salisbury in preparation for "Ringing in the Millennium".

A sufficient number of ringers has been maintained to date to ring the bells every Sunday and for weddings etc.

The band has progressed in its abilities and can now ring simple methods. A number of learners ranging in age from nine to early seventies are carrying on the discipline of campanology.

Gardening Society

Organisation Description:

The Society meets in the Reading Room, in the village, at 7.30pm on the last Thursday of the month – September to November and January to June. The Society is open to everyone with an interest in gardens, plants and gardening and is especially useful if you are a new gardener or have just moved into the area. We have a good programme of speakers and visits throughout the year and new members and visitors are most welcome. Annual membership is £10 and a charge of £2.00 per meeting is made for visitors. Meetings are relaxed and friendly with tea/coffee and biscuits following the speaker.

We are an informal, mixed group of people who get together on the second Wednesday of the month in the Reading Room at 7.30 pm for a programme of talks, (usually with a local emphasis) ending about 9.00pm after tea/coffee and biscuits.

The Guild is open to everyone and our aim is to be informative, entertaining and to promote a sense of community spirit. We are always happy to welcome new members. You can become a member for the very reasonable annual fee of £6, or come as a guest to one of our meetings, for which a £2 charge is made.
