St. Lawrence, Stratford sub Castle band of Bellringers were formed in 1998 as a consequence of the installation of the new ring of six bells in that church. A number of villagers had learned to ring at St. Thomas` in Salisbury in preparation for "Ringing in the Millennium".

A sufficient number of ringers has been maintained to date, (August, 2005), to ring the bells every Sunday and for weddings etc.

The band has progressed in its abilities and can now ring simple methods. A number of learners ranging in age from nine to early seventies are carrying on the discipline of campanology.
